Ableton Live Dj Forum.

January 25th, 2008

I was going to post up a guide on how i personally use my uc33e with ableton but i got half way through writing my article and realised it was more or less repeating whats already in Condra’s tutorial on the ‘ableton live dj forum‘ so i thought id just scrap mine and point a link to his.

There is also a number of other handy tutorials over there that are a really good read, so head over to the forum and check it out!

But my net should be back on soon and im buying an iphone tommorro.
So ill be able to post from pretty much anywhere.

Im also thinking of letting a few other folks in on this blog.
So if your interested in writing regular ableton based posts, let me know and ill set up some login details for you.

Track Team Audio.

Track Team Audio.

Ive been using TTA’s stuff for a while now and thought id write a small post on them.
They provide live packs and effects racks for use in ableton at quite a small price.

I bought the Modmachines Beatbox Bundle which comes with tons of presets & sounds for Operator, Impulse & Simpler. You also get millions of presets for all of abletons audio’s effects, my faves being the compressor, eq 8 & reverb presets.

Aswell as all these preset you get the cHopbox Beat Slice Player, fibo01 Analog Sequencerd Pulse drum mOdule, and loads of other synths and racks.

The bundle is well worth money, even if you dont use them everytime you open ableton, its just nice to have them there!

You can find a Track Team Audio Live Pack free with this months computer music magazine which is titled ‘The insiders guide to Ableton’.

Go pick it up.

Slow Posting.

December 7th, 2007

I know i should probally post about ableton 7 aswell but ive not had a chance to get my hands on it yet, so that will probally have to wait till the new year.

Stay Tuned.
& if theres anything you think i should cover, let me know in the comments.

Just Add Music.

December 5th, 2007

‘Just Add Music’ is third party software that lets you add video to your audio clips in ableton.
This means that you will be able to dj and vj at the same time.

At £100 for the software and then another £500 upwards for a projector, its not a cheap game to get into but im sure the coolness factor of being able to have videos relating to the music your playing on a screen behind you would be impressive!!

Check out some videos of the program after the jump.

December 5th, 2007

Live’s ‘In / Out’ Section is a flexible tool that i use everytime i make a tune.
With it you can route audio & midi signals from one channel into another which will decrease CPU load as you will be able to use less effects & vst’s.

Quick Warping Tutorial.

November 30th, 2007

Just to get things going on the site, i thought id start off with a basic tutorial on warping tracks inside ableton.

If your new to ableton / warping, it basically means that if you are mixing two songs together they will beatmatch perfectly and be in sync with each other no matter what tempo your at.

This means you will be able to concentrate on being more creative with your mixes instead of focusing on beatmatching.

On with the tutorial.
